Indian Navy extends Agniveer application date. Check the new deadline

The revised deadline gives aspiring Navy candidates additional time to complete their applications.

The Indian Navy has extended the application deadline for the Agniveer Apprentice Recruitment 2026. Eligible unmarried male candidates can now submit their applications until July 5, 2026, at 5 pm through the official recruitment portal.

The recruitment drive is being conducted for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Candidates who meet the educational and age criteria are advised to complete the application process before the revised deadline.

Eligibility criteria for applicants

Candidates must have passed Class 10 with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks from a recognised board. In addition, applicants should possess a three-year diploma with a minimum of 50 per cent marks from an AICTE-approved polytechnic institution.

Eligible diploma disciplines include Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering, Instrumentation, Metallurgy, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Manufacturing Technology and Power Plant Engineering, among others.

For the 01/2027 batch, candidates must be born between December 1, 2004, and May 31, 2009. For the 02/2027 batch, the eligible birth dates are between May 1, 2005, and October 31, 2009.

How to apply

Candidates need to visit the official Indian Navy recruitment website and register themselves as apprentices if they have not already done so.

After logging in, applicants must open the Agniveer (Apprentice) INET 2/2026 application form, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and complete the payment process.

The application fee is Rs 550 along with 18 per cent GST and can be paid through online modes.

Selection process and physical test

The recruitment process will begin with the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2/2026, which is expected to be conducted in August 2026.

The computer-based examination will contain 100 objective questions covering English, General Awareness, Science, Mathematics and diploma trade-specific subjects.

Candidates shortlisted in the written examination will appear for Stage II, which includes a Physical Fitness Test, a written assessment and a medical examination.

The physical test requires candidates to complete a 1.6 km run in 6 minutes and 30 seconds, along with 20 squats, 15 push-ups and 15 bent-knee sit-ups.
