Sequels are common in Indian cinema but a threequel is a something different altogether. It means the characters have stuck around long enough to matter, the world built around them still has room to grow, and the makers believe there's still a story worth telling.
Right now, Bollywood has a surprisingly busy pipeline of third instalments in the works.
