Gossip is often seen as something to avoid, usually linked with negativity or unnecessary criticism. But when looked at through a different lens, this everyday habit may not be entirely bad. In fact, research suggests that a little harmless gossip can actually help strengthen emotional bonds in relationships by creating trust, shared understanding and a sense of closeness.
A study conducted by the University of California found that couples who gossip daily are better off than others. The bond between them becomes stronger. The survey of 76 couples showed that they spend an average of about 38 minutes daily gossiping. Of this, 29 minutes were spent jointly talking about someone. These small conversations strengthened the bond between them.

What should you keep in mind?
