But if you want to explore orange orchards away from the bustle of Sitong or Mirik, then you can visit these three quiet spots. These villages are also perfect for a peaceful winter holiday.

Selfu
You have probably been to the orange orchards of Sittong. This time, travel to the orchards of an offbeat mountain village. From Sittong, about 21 km away, lies Selfu-a quiet settlement hemmed in by hills. The area has a number of orange orchards, and in many homestays, the orchards are right next to the property. From Selfu, you can visit Sitong, Ahaldara Viewpoint, Lepcha Falls and other nearby spots. Winter is the best season to see Selfu. There are several homestays and cottages available for visitors.
Chota Mangwa
From the orchards, you can visit Chota Mangwa village, speckled with orange trees in every corner. In December and January, the trees with their orange hues transform the landscape. The village presents a view of Kanchenjunga also. Chota Mangwa is about 35 km away from Darjeeling. Takdah, Tinchuley, Lopchu, and the Teesta Valley are easily accessible from here. Tabakoshi
To see tea gardens and orange orchards together, head to Tabakoshi. This village is just a short distance from Mirik, close to the Gopaldhara Tea Estate. Situated along the Rangbhang River, Tabakoshi attracts visitors who prefer a quiet mountain stay. If you visit in winter, you can also explore the orange orchards here. From Tabakoshi, it's easy to visit Mirik, Ghoom, Jorpokhri, Lepchajagat, Pashupati Market and the border viewpoint. The village has several homestays for overnight stays.
