Ranji Trophy semi-final between Bengal and Jammu Kashmir has reached into its decisive phase, the game reached to the tea break of day three and Bengal players are awaiting to fight back in the last session of the day. As swing played a bright role in the match, Bengal batters failed to settle in the crease. Coming to bat in the third innings. Bengal had a lead of 26 runs and only needed to capitalise on that, but Auqib Nabi’s fiery spell, along with Yudhvir Singh’s accurate execution, and Sunil Kumar’s fierce, Bengal has gone all out in just 99 runs. After Shahbaz Ahmed and Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal’s dismissals, no one has able to anchor the innings, and with that, Jammu took the bone out of them; now they needed only 123 runs to qualify for their first-ever final.

For Bengal, the day unfolded with a good outing, Shami’s rhythm out-muscled Jammu batters in 302 runs. Clinching eight wickets in an innings, Shami gave a solid message to the selectors. Following his step, Jammu and Kashmir’s Auqib Nabi provided Bengal a shock by taking four big wickets. Nabi ended up taking a total of 9 wickets in this match.

Nabi’s recent performances in domestic cricket led him to get his first IPL contract this year. His good performance has caught the eye of the selectors. Yudhvir Singh and Sunil Kumar have also delivered one of their finest spells. Sunil took four wickets, while Yudhvir took three in this innings.

The batting unit struggled against disciplined bowling, with no player crossing 25. Shahbaz Ahmed top-scored with 24 off 25 balls, while Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal made 14 and Anustup Majumdar added 12. Mohammed Shami chipped in with a quick 11, but wickets fell at regular intervals. Auqib Nabi Dar and Sunil Kumar were the chief destroyers, claiming four wickets each, while Yudhvir Singh Charak picked up two. Bengal’s innings never gained momentum, folding at a modest run rate of 3.93.
