Auqib and Zeeshan were selected for bowling in the Indian nets ahead of the Afghan Test

Auqib Nabi Dar, the Jammu and Kashmir grown seamer, has been selected by the team management along with six others to bowl in the nets before the Test against Afghanistan starting on June 6. His non-selection was previously a criticism to the officials which is now cleared by his joining in the squad.

Besides Auqib, the UP leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari, who has appeared for SRH in the IPL, has also been called to bowl in the Indian nets.

Speaking to PTI a BCCI source told, "Yes Auqib Nabi has been asked to join the India nets. It is not just Auqib but there are six others, who have also been called to join the India nets. Due to extreme weather conditions, the two premier fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna can't go flat out in the nets after a gruelling three games in seven days with travel. The batters would need adequate practice."

The J&K medium pacer, Auqib bagged 60 wickets to become highest wicket-taker by gifting Ranji Trophy for Jammu and Kashmir.

Though Auqib has not been included in the 15-member squad, but is among the stand-bys Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar.

The Indian men will have their first practice session on Tuesday afternoon. But it is likely to see an absence of all the players who were part of the IPL final to train on the opening day.
