Soon after, news emerged that Casey Rama Subramanian, the team’s performance analyst based in New Delhi, had suffered a heart attack.
According to reports, he experienced chest pain earlier in the week and was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors performed an angioplasty. Fortunately, his condition has stabilised, and he is now recovering well. Team sources have indicated there is currently no cause for further concern, bringing some relief to an already strained squad.
Afghanistan’s qualification hopes hang in balance
On the cricketing front, Afghanistan’s campaign remained full of up and downs. Losses to New Zealand national cricket team and South Africa have left them without points. To keep their Super Eight ambitions alive, they must secure convincing wins in their remaining fixtures against United Arab Emirates national cricket team and Canada national cricket team.
