Hardik Pandya once again delivered a strong all-round performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, leading Baroda to a commanding win against Chandigarh. Batting first, Baroda posted a massive total of 391 runs. In reply, Chandigarh were bowled out for 242.

Hardik did not follow BCCI's instructions

Hardik played a key role with the bat, scoring 75 runs off just 31 balls. His innings included nine sixes and two fours, with a strike rate of over 240. He then contributed with the ball as well, completing his full quota of 10 overs and picking up three wickets while conceding 66 runs.

However, the decision to bowl his complete spell has raised questions. When India’s squad for the New Zealand ODI series was announced, the BCCI had stated in a social media post that Hardik Pandya was not yet fit to bowl 10 overs. Despite this, he bowled his full quota in the domestic tournament. The BCCI CEO had reportedly kept him in reserve with the T20 World Cup in mind.

As a result, there has been speculation that Hardik Pandya could face action for not following BCCI instructions. However, it is believed that the all-rounder may have taken prior permission before bowling in the match.

Hardik Pandya's excellent form

Hardik has been in excellent form throughout the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Apart from his 75-run knock against Chandigarh, he also played a blistering innings of 133 runs against Vidarbha. In the last two matches alone, he has hit 20 sixes. He is now set to feature in the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand.
