POCO on Wednesday launched the POCO M8 5G in India, introducing notable upgrades over last year’s POCO M7, including a brighter AMOLED display, faster charging, improved performance and a longer software support timeline.
The POCO M8 5G is priced at ₹15,999 as part of a limited launch offer valid for the first 12 hours. The price includes a ₹2,000 discount on ICICI credit and debit cards, the company said. The smartphone will go on sale from January 13 at 12 noon exclusively on Flipkart.

The device is available in two RAM options, 6GB and 8GB which is paired with 128GB and 256GB storage variants.
What are the new upgrades
POCO M8 5G is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, built on a 4nm process. The chipset marks a step up from the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 that is used in the M7 and features Cortex-A78 cores that helps in smoother multitasking and improved gaming performance.
The phone features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels. It has an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz and a pixel density of 387ppi. POCO claims the panel delivers up to 3,200 nits of peak brightness. It also supports 3,840Hz PWM dimming and carries triple TUV Rheinland eye protection certifications.
In the camera department, the POCO M8 5G comes with a 50MP primary rear camera using the Light Fusion 400 sensor. Camera features include HDR, portrait mode, panorama, dynamic shots, Google Lens support and 4K video recording. On the front, the device houses a 20MP selfie camera, an upgrade over the M7’s 8MP sensor.

The phone packs a 5,520mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging, with the charger included in the box. It also offers 18W reverse charging support.
When it comes to the software front, the POCO M8 5G runs HyperOS 2 and comes with a promise of four years of Android updates along with six years of security patches.
Additional features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, IP65 and IP66-rated dust and water resistance, and a slim design measuring 7.35mm and weighing 178 grams.
