The same magic unfolded again in the Under-19 World Cup final, where Vaibhav lit up the stage with a breathtaking innings against England. His explosive knock of 175 runs off just 80 balls sent shockwaves through world cricket and rewrote the record books.
Batting with fearless intent, the 14-year-old scored at a staggering strike rate of 218. His innings was studded with 15 fours and 15 sixes, showcasing both power and timing. Vaibhav smashed the second-fastest century in Under-19 World Cup history and registered the fastest 150 of the tournament. Remarkably, it was also the quickest hundred ever scored in an Under-19 World Cup final, reaching the milestone in just 55 balls.
Earlier, Indian captain Ayush Mhatre won the toss and chose to bat. This decision, which Vaibhav justified from the very first delivery. He began fluently and never looked back, taking apart the English bowling attack with ease. Even after Aaron George was dismissed at nine, Vaibhav’s momentum did not drop. From one end, he continued his onslaught, dictating the momentum and putting England under relentless pressure.

The benchmark for Indian dominance in Under-19 World Cup finals was earlier set by Unmukt Chand in 2022 and Manjot Kalra in 2018. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, however, took it to an entirely different level with a breathtaking knock that has already entered U-19 cricket folklore.
Sooryavanshi blazed his way to a half-century in just 32 balls before unleashing a brutal assault on the English attack, scoring his next 40 runs in only 20 deliveries. Although the scoring rate dipped slightly as he closed in on the milestone, he brought up his century in just 55 balls, shattering Manjot Kalra’s long-standing record of a 101-ball hundred, the fastest by an Indian in a U-19 World Cup final until now.
With this effort, Sooryavanshi now holds the record for the fastest century in an Under-19 World Cup final. His innings did not stop there. By the time he was dismissed for a stunning 175, he had also claimed another major record, the highest individual score by an Indian in Under-19 World Cup history.
