The T20 World Cup has entered a crucial stage with England already securing a semi-final spot from the Super Eight. India remains in a tough contest, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka are still in the race. However, uncertainty continues over the venues for the semi-finals and final.
The ICC has begun ticket sales despite the venue situation not being fully finalised. On Tuesday, February 24, ticket sales opened at 7 PM, prompting questions from fans about what would happen if matches are shifted from Kolkata or Ahmedabad.

The ICC has clarified the matter. In a statement, it shares that if supporters buy tickets for a venue from which Semi-Final-1 or the Final is ultimately moved, then supporters will be given a refund. This means fans will not lose their money if the venue changes.
Why might matches be moved from Eden and Ahmedabad?
The venue for the first semi-final is not yet final. The match will be played either in Colombo or Kolkata. If Pakistan reaches the semi-finals, they will play their match on March 4 at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. If Pakistan doesn't reach the semi-finals, but Sri Lanka qualifies, then they will play the first semi-final in Colombo. If none of India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka reaches the semi-finals, only then will Eden get the match.

On the other hand, if Pakistan or Sri Lanka reach the final, the game will move to Colombo. Otherwise, the match will be held in Ahmedabad.
