Before the high-voltage clash, Pakistan stirred controversy, from boycott drama to bold claims of defeating India. But once the match began, the narrative changed completely. Instead of challenging India, Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat as India extended their dominance in T20 World Cup encounters.
Out of nine meetings in the T20 World Cups, India has now defeated Pakistan eight times, taking the head-to-head record from 7-1 to 8-1.
