Shafali Verma, the prominent batter of the Indian women's team and also a member of the Indian World Cup-winning team has opened up about her feelings and the seven days she spent in the Indian dressing room. Shefali Verma was in Surat when India was playing the World Cup. At that time she was playing in the Super League stage of the Senior Women's T20 Trophy and she was leading the charts.

Shafali who is one of the finest hitters of the ball, was not picked in the standbys and also did not play in the ODI format for almost one year. She came into the team and played one of the dream knocks in the final scoring 87 off 78 balls and also picked 2 wickets with the ball.
Talking to ESPNCricinfo, Shefali expressed that life has changed a lot after the World Cup, adding that she said, "There has been a lot of recognition. There were opportunities to participate in reality shows that we have been watching for a long time now. It is a very different feeling and it feels so good."

Talking about her parents she said, “I met my parents about 10-12 days after winning the World Cup. My father was very happy, he never shows his emotions. My mother was happy too, and she started crying. We remembered my hard work. It was a lovely moment to meet them after becoming a world champion."
Experience of KBC
After winning the World Cup, Sony network arranged a special KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) episode with the women’s team, and she says it was more stressful than the World Cup final.

She said to ESPN Cricinfo, “ I have been watching KBC since childhood and have seen so many stars and talented people sit on that hot seat. I don't think there was as much pressure in the World Cup final as there was on that day to answer the questions! Meeting Amitabh sir is a big thing, and it felt good to see him in person."
Gaining recognisation
After the World Cup, she gave a treat to herself, went for a trip in Bali and also became one of the popular faces of Women's cricket and featured on the cover of Vogue India. From featuring in the semi-finals to becoming the man of the match of the final, she came with both luck and magic.
