Australian legend Matthew Hayden has been saved from losing face after making a pledge about Joe Root's century. He had said that if Joe Root couldn't score a century on Australian soil, he would walk naked. But he didn't have to do that as Root scored a century. And Matthew Hayden's daughter Grace Hayden was not at all happy with her father's such challenge. Now, Grace has given her father Matthew a stern message and also issued a threat.
After Matthew Hayden made the challenge about Joe Root's century, his daughter, Grace Hayden, tweeted a request for Joe Root to score a century. Root did just that. Root scored a century at the Gabba, his first century on Australian soil in his career. Though his team couldn't win. And after Root's century, Matthew Hayden praised Root in a special message.

Though the matter ended there, Grace did not take her father, Matthew Hayden's, reckless challenge well at all. She now said in quite strong language that if her father takes such a challenge again, she will disown him. Indirectly, she said she would abandon Matthew Hayden. In an interview, Grace said, "I'm grateful that Root scored a century. For the first time in my life, I prayed for an English cricketer to do well in the Ashes. Root, honestly speaking, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If dad says again that he will run or walk naked somewhere, then I will disown him."
