A dispute between India and Bangladesh has sparked a row of controversies. Following Mustafizur Rahman’s exclusion from the IPL, BCB asked ICC to change their venues to Sri Lanka, citing safety concerns and also their ministry gave a command to halt the broadcasting of IPL in the country. Now, Moeen Ali’s statement about the ongoing matter added fuel to the fire. The former English spin all-rounder, who made his appearance for Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and also for Kolkata Knight Riders, opened up on the matter and slammed the governing body, saying “it’s a very rubbish thing to do”

Moeen's take on Mustafizur's issue

Speaking on the Mustafizur Issue to bdnews24.com, Moeen said, "I honestly feel the solution might eventually look more like football. You have the World Cup, ICC events, maybe one or two big international series, and then the rest is franchise cricket. Because the game is already struggling with these issues, and then what happened to Mustafizur on top of that makes it even worse.”

He also acknowledged that this is wrong for Mustafizur Rahman, as he has to lose his hard-earned contract. “I feel the worst for Mustafizur. He earned that contract through years of consistent performances. For his career, that was a massive opportunity. He could've played for any team, but it was KKR, and in truth, he's the one suffering the most.” He said.

Adding to that, he said, "Something is clearly not right. This isn't just about Mustafizur. Pakistan, Bangladesh, we all know there are ongoing issues. It can't continue like this. These are big problems.”

He also raised his points towards ICC, saying, "The ICC has never really been ideal. Everyone knows who runs things. But nobody speaks up. Everyone has their own agenda, and as long as they're fine, they don't care.”

Recent developments

Early on the day, a report comes out that ICC has instructed BCB to play in India; otherwise, they have to forfeit points.
