At 13 years old, he stunned the entire world by getting an opportunity in the IPL. Now there's been a spelling change in Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's English name. Until now, all media outlets wrote 'Sooryavanshi' as Suryavanshi, but that has now changed. Vaibhav's coach, Manish Ojha, has informed 'Ei Samay Online' that Vaibhav's surname is Sooryavanshi.

Vaibhav was born on March 27, 2011. The teenager from Samastipur in Bihar is currently busy playing for India's Under-19 team. Just on Wednesday, he scored a century in 63 balls against South Africa's Under-19 team. Along with that, discussions have begun about the spelling of Vaibhav's surname.

Coach Manish has groomed Vaibhav since childhood. Speaking over the phone from Bihar, he said, 'Vaibhav's real surname is Sooryavanshi; it was mistakenly written as Suryavanshi. I, too, have written Suryavanshi in various places. Actually, that spelling comes to mind. The media also used to write Suryavanshi. Many documents also have Suryavanshi written. However, the real spelling is Sooryavanshi, that's what should be written.'

The 14-year-old has a long way ahead of him. Not just IPL or domestic cricket, Vaibhav's real goal is to play for the country's senior team. The Under-19 World Cup lies ahead. Making India champions there is the immediate target. But that's just the beginning. The wonder boy is counting the days to get a call-up to the national team.
