This year the tournament was filled with many exciting innings and moments but it also became a cause of worry for South African management just before the World Cup as so many injuries happened including the World Cup squad players.

Growing concerns for the South African team

David Miller along with Donavan Ferreira faced injury just before the World Cup which has raised concerns for the South African team. Though Miller's injury has not been confirmed yet, it is suspected that he sustained a groin injury. With that, he became the third South African from the World Cup squad to sustain an injury. The first one was Tony De Zorzi who suffered an injury during the India tour while Donavan Ferreira fell awkwardly on his left shoulder while diving to save runs for the team. It has cast a cloud of doubt over his participation. He was also the standing captain for JSK as he is ruled out now, James Vince will step in as the stand-in captain.
