Every cricketer wants to end the year with a victory. The Bengal team was no exception to this. They ended 2025 as expected with a win, and that victory was a big one. Quite unexpected.

The Bengal versus Jammu and Kashmir match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy ended quickly. Bengal won by 9 wickets.

The two teams faced off at Rajkot's Sansosara Cricket Ground. Batting first, Jammu and Kashmir managed only 63 runs. They were bowled out in 20.4 overs, scoring just 63 runs.

After seeing the opposition's score, it was clear who had the upper hand in the match. Bengal's three pacers Mohammad Sami, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar demolished the opposition. Sami took two wickets, Akash Deep took four, and Mukesh Kumar took four wickets.

Naturally, Bengal faced no difficulty in chasing this target. They knocked off the runs for victory in 9.4 overs. Abhishek Porel and Sudip Kumar Gharami remained unbeaten on 30 and 25 runs respectively. Captain Abhimanyu Easwaran was out for four runs.

In this match, everyone's attention was on the battle between Jammu and Kashmir's pacer Aqib Nabi versus Bengal's players. He is one of the most destructive bowlers this time.

He has been bowling consistently well in domestic cricket. But the runs needed from the batters' side for him to fight didn't materialise. However, Auqib Nabi tried. He took the wicket of Abhimanyu Easwaran.

Cricket matches mean there will be some record or another. Either a player will set a record or the entire team. But the BCCI will have to sit down and calculate separately what records the match between Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir in the Vijay Hazare Trophy broke or created.
