As 2025 comes to an end, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's marriage is rumoured to be "under strain". The frosty relations come "not because of a lack of love but because of opposing fears", as reported by Closer sources.
For Harry, returning is "urgent"
As per reports, Price Harry feels returning to the UK is urgent given his father King Charles health. He feels his children Archie and Lilibet, should get time to bond with their grandfather. However, Meghan Markle expressed "unhappiness, fear and anxiety" over this.

The source reportedly said that "Harry was begging to come home". "He talks about the UK constantly. He knows his father is ill and he feels time slipping away. For him, 2026 feels urgent," the source revelaed to Closer.
Meghan's firm stance
"But Meghan associates the UK with unhappiness, fear and anxiety. She is equally determined not to be rushed back into a country she associates with pain, scrutiny and unfinished business. She doesn’t want to put herself back in that place and feels cross that it’s back on the table," insiders told Closer.
The sources revealed that Meghan "does not even want a mention of the topic".
In September 2025, Prince Harry reunited with his father at Clarence House and has since shown inclination on prioritising his relationship with the family. The Home Office will review Harry's security level and if it takes a decison in favour of Harry, their return to the UK could be possible. The decision is likely in January.

For Meghan, this comes as an alarming news and she worries that is the security issue is resolved, she will have no reason to deny. "And she’s not sure she’s ready for that – emotionally or psychologically," say sources.
The source also revealed that Harry's longing to return highlights on how little time he has spent with his family in the UK over the past years. Earlier in 2025, Harry had said that he would "love a reconciliation with his family" and King Charles and Kate (who is battling cancer).
