Shaheen Afridi pulled out of attack for dangerous deliveries on BBL debut

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s BBL debut ended on a sour note after the umpires stopped him for dangerous bowling.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was removed from bowling in his BBL debut for bowling dangerously. In the 18th over of Melbourne Renegades’ innings, the Pakistani speed star bowled two consecutive waist-length deliveries, one each to Tim Seifert and Ollie Peake after that he had been removed from bowling.

Notably, Shaheen Shah Afridi was making his first appearance in the BBL in this match. He was picked by the Brisbane Heat for the BBL.

Afridi was asked not to bowl in that match again. He was unhappy with the decision, and the over was completed by the Heat’s captain, Nathan MacSweeney.He bowled 2.4 overs in the match and conceded 43 runs while taking 0 wickets.

A debut to forget for Shaheen Shah Afridi

Afridi, who is known for his pace and fury, had a very ordinary day in the middle. He did well in his very first over in the BBL. After that, the batters did not show any mercy to him.

In the very second over of his spell, he delivered three consecutive dots. Things went wrong when he started to miss line and lengths, and Renegades batters smashed him to get 19 runs in the over. Then, Afridi came to bowl again in the 18th over, where he bowled two consecutive dangerous deliveries and was removed from the bowling as per the cricketing laws.

Rengedes had a good day out in the middle and finished the innings with 212 runs in total. Tim Seifert smashed 102 runs in 56 runs. His blistering performance came a day before the auction; will it open a doorway for him in the IPL? It will be interesting to see.
