Strike rate 331.58. Seven fours. Five sixes. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered a 63-run knock off just 19 balls in the DY Patil T20 Cup. The innings came while playing for DY Patil Blue against the Indian Navy.

The match was held as part of the ongoing domestic T20 tournament. The Indian Navy had put up 220 runs on the board, with Kubar Pathak scoring 87 and Nitin Tanwar remaining unbeaten on 57. The target looked challenging. But Vaibhav's innings shifted the focus completely. With less than a month left for the 2026 IPL season, the performance will be closely noted by Rajasthan Royals.

Quick run chase, instant impact

Sooryavanshi began aggressively. He scored 16 runs off his first four balls. He raced to 43 in just 12 deliveries. The pressure quickly moved to the bowlers.

A record-maker in the making

This is not his first major highlight. In 2025, he scored a 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. It was recorded as the youngest century and the fastest hundred by an Indian in IPL history.

Off the field, Vaibhav chose to skip his Class 10 board exams to focus on cricket. In T20 cricket overall, he has scored 701 runs in 18 matches at a strike rate of 204.37. With IPL 2026 approaching, this innings adds to his growing reputation.
