Indian spinner Varun Chakravarthy continued his impressive run on Wednesday as he consolidated his position at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Bowler Rankings, achieving a career-best rating following his strong performances in the ongoing T20 series against South Africa.

The 34-year-old right-arm spinner earned a new personal peak of 818 rating points after claiming his third successive two-wicket haul in the five-match home series. Chakravarthy has taken six wickets across the first three matches, underlining his consistency and control with the pacing.

Indian spinner’s standout show against South Africa

His most recent spell of 2/11 from four economical overs in Dharamsala played a key role in India’s clinical seven-wicket win over South Africa. The effort helped him open up a significant lead at the top of the rankings, where he now enjoys a 119-point advantage over second-placed New Zealand seamer Jacob Duffy, who sits on 699 points. Chakravarthy has also moved inside the top 10 for the best rating ever achieved by a T20I bowler.

South Africa’s Aiden Markram climbed eight places to 29th, and Quinton de Kock moved up 14 spots to 43rd.
