Tech giant Google has released its trending list for 2025. A trending list of topics around the world has emerged. Sports are also included. And there lies a surprise for India's cricket fans. The sensational IPL winners, Royal Challengers Bangalore, are not in the top ten. Not only that, there are more surprises.

Among cricket tournaments, IPL is the most popular in the world. After starting in 2008, IPL has secured third place among all franchise leagues worldwide in 18 years. And the 2025 IPL was one of the most popular. Because for the first time in 18 years, RCB won the IPL. But they are not on the list.

Currently, among IPL franchises, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bangalore are popular in terms of fanbase. These three teams are not there. The surprising thing is that Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants have found places in this top ten. Significantly, none of these four teams has won the IPL even once. Not only that, but Gujarat and Lucknow are the newest teams.

This search trend means what Indians searched for using Google Search in 2025. There, IPL's popular teams are in the back rows.
