India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal reached a unique milestone during the Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh on Saturday. The match marked Jaiswal's 29th Test appearance, and remarkably, each of those 29 matches has been played at a different venue. Since making his debut in 2023 at Roseau, the left-hander has never featured twice at the same Test ground. While he managed only 24 runs off 32 balls before becoming India's lone wicket to fall early, the occasion was significant for the rare record. The New Chandigarh Test became the 29th venue of his Test career.
Jaiswal's statistics in the test career
In his debut match in 2023, he scored 171 runs against the West Indies at the Roseau Test. The 24-year-old showcased his talent, and his highest score reached 226 runs against England in Vishakapatnam in 2024.

He recorded his second-best score of 214 not out, again against England, this time at Rajkot, later that same year. His exceptional performances established him as one of the finest batters in the Test format during his time.
Jaiswal's streak of new grounds touches legendary records
This match against Afghanistan marked Jaiswal's territory globally by playing at different stadiums and at different venues. His streak of playing in different venues globally has entered a race to touch the legendary streak margin set by Sachin Tendulkar and Sanjay Manjrekar. These legends were the only Indian players to achieve a streak of continuous playing in different countries' stadiums, with Manjrekar standing at the top of the list with 33 venues and Tendulkar standing second with 32.

Though Jaiswal, being only 24 years old and having a lot of time to lead his journey, could break the record of the streak made by the legends. Despite today's 24-run innings, he has been opted by the officials to play for the next test matches, not only breaking the record with a streak, but also establishing him as the most prominent test cricket player of all time.
