Students seeking a review of their Class 12 board exam results have been given additional time by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board has revised the schedule for post-result activities, including verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of evaluated answer books and re-evaluation.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the application deadline for Class 12 students who wish to apply for verification of marks, obtain photocopies of evaluated answer books, or seek re-evaluation of their answer scripts after the declaration of the 2026 board examination results, as per NDTV reports.

The extension provides students with more time to review their options and complete the required application process through the board's official portal.

Revised schedule announced

According to the revised timeline, students can now submit requests for verification of marks until June 9. The board has advised candidates to complete the process within the updated deadline, as no applications will be accepted after the specified date.

Verification of marks is the first stage of the review process and allows students to check whether all answers have been evaluated correctly and whether marks have been totalled accurately.

Photocopy of answer books available after verification

Students who apply for verification and wish to inspect their evaluated answer sheets can subsequently request photocopies of their answer books. This step enables candidates to review how their responses were assessed by examiners.

After receiving the photocopies, students can identify specific questions they believe require re-evaluation and proceed with the next stage of the process.

Re-evaluation process explained

The re-evaluation facility is available only after students have obtained copies of their evaluated answer books. Through this process, candidates can request a fresh assessment of particular answers that they feel may not have been marked appropriately.

CBSE has continued with its structured three-step mechanism, which includes verification of marks, obtaining photocopies of answer books and re-evaluation. The system is intended to provide transparency and allow students to seek clarification regarding their results.

Students advised to complete applications on time

The board has urged students and parents to carefully follow the revised schedule and submit applications within the stipulated period. Candidates are also advised to review eligibility conditions, applicable fees and procedural guidelines before filing requests, according to NDTV.

The extension is expected to benefit students who may have missed the earlier deadline or required additional time to decide whether they wished to pursue verification or re-evaluation.

Post-result process remains online

As in previous years, all applications related to verification, photocopies and re-evaluation are being processed through CBSE's online platform. Students must complete the necessary formalities digitally and keep track of announcements regarding subsequent stages of the review process.

With the revised deadline now in place, eligible candidates have another opportunity to initiate the post-result review process and seek clarification regarding their Class 12 examination scores.
