A suspected arson attack caused a fire at Macclesfield FC’s historic Moss Rose Stadium, prompting an emergency response from firefighters in the early hours of Tuesday. Emergency crews rushed to the ground after flames were reported near one of the buildings inside the stadium complex. The fire was eventually brought under control, with no injuries reported, but authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Moss Rose shortly after reports of a blaze emerged during the night. Crews arrived with fire engines and used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to tackle the flames.

According to initial reports, the fire started in an outbuilding located near the club shop within the stadium premises. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after several hours of operation, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the historic ground. Emergency services remained at the scene until early morning to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and the area was safe.
