The Philadelphia 76ers pulled off a stunning turnaround to knock out the Boston Celtics with a 109–100 win in Game 7, completing a remarkable comeback from a 3–1 series deficit. It was a performance built on resilience, timely execution, and the brilliance of their MVP leader.

Embiid leads from the front

At the heart of the victory was Joel Embiid, who delivered when it mattered most. The big man dominated with 34 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists, controlling the game on both ends of the floor. After missing early games in the series, his return shifted momentum firmly in Philadelphia’s favour.

Tyrese Maxey provided crucial support with a 30-point performance, attacking the Celtics’ defence with pace and confidence. Rookie VJ Edgecombe also chipped in with valuable contributions, helping the Sixers maintain control during key stretches of the game.

Celtics fall short under pressure

For Boston, the night exposed missed opportunities. Despite taking a commanding 3–1 lead earlier in the series, they failed to close it out. The absence of Jayson Tatum due to injury proved costly, leaving Jaylen Brown to carry the offensive burden.

Brown fought hard with 33 points, but Boston struggled with consistency and shot-making in decisive moments. Philadelphia’s defensive intensity and composure in the fourth quarter ultimately proved too much to handle.

The result marks a historic moment for the 76ers, as they register their first-ever playoff comeback from a 3–1 deficit. With momentum on their side and Embiid back to his best, Philadelphia now moves on to face the New York Knicks, emerging as a serious threat in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
