The headline act came in New York, where the Knicks halted San Antonio’s remarkable surge in commanding fashion. The New York Knicks secured a statement 114-89 victory over the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden, bringing an end to the Spurs’ 11-game winning streak.

Mikal Bridges led the offensive effort with 25 points, while Jalen Brunson added 24 points and seven assists, orchestrating the tempo efficiently. New York imposed itself early, tightened defensive coverage, and limited San Antonio’s scoring avenues throughout the contest. Victor Wembanyama registered 25 points and 13 rebounds, but the Spurs failed to generate consistent support scoring. The Knicks’ disciplined rotations and perimeter containment ensured the visitors recorded their lowest total of the season.

Cavaliers, Celtics and Lakers maintain momentum

Elsewhere, the Cleveland Cavaliers edged the Brooklyn Nets 106-102 in a closely fought encounter, outscoring them in crunch time to seal the win.

The Boston Celtics outplayed the Philadelphia 76ers 114-98, capitalising on rebounding dominance and efficient half-court execution. On the West Coast, the Los Angeles Lakers overwhelmed the Sacramento Kings 128-104 in a high-scoring display.

Bulls snap skid; Western race tightens

The Chicago Bulls ended their 11-game losing streak with a convincing 120-97 win over the Milwaukee Bucks, marking a significant morale boost. In other results, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets 117-108, the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Indiana Pacers 125-106, the Atlanta Hawks crushed the Portland Trail Blazers 135-101, and the Detroit Pistons overcame the Orlando Magic 106-92 behind a standout performance from Cade Cunningham.
