A chilling video from Birch by Romeo Lane in Arpora, North Goa, showed the horrifying moment a deadly fire broke out late on Saturday night which consumed at least 25 lives, including tourists and staff.
As per a report by the Hindustan Times, while it is claimed that a cylinder blast after midnight on Sunday triggered the nightclub fire, some eyewitness accounts tell that the fire started on the dance floor first, which was packed with clubbers.

Panic on the dance floor
In the video, a woman is seen performing a belly dance while the music is playing, when flames suddenly burst from the nightclubâs roof. Performers immediately rush off the stage in panic, while the fire spreads rapidly across the venue. Shouts of âaag lag gayiâ (fire has erupted) echo through the video, reflecting the chaos inside the nightclub.

The first call came at 12:04 am on Sunday, following which emergency teams rushed to the site to douse the fire. But despite that, 25 people lost their lives in one of the deadliest incidents related to nightclubs in North Goa.
Investigation underway
While Goa CM Pramod Sawant has ordered a magisterial inquiry, the owner and general manager of the nightclub have been booked under an FIR, PTI reported. Police, however, have yet to release their names officially. As per local sources, the owner is Saurabh Luthra, who had disputes with the landowners and was also at odds with his business partners, according to Arpora village Sarpanch Roshan Redkar, Hindustan Times reported.

The instant panic drove many towards the kitchen, located in the basement of the nightclub premises, leading them to get trapped there with the staff, Hindustan Times reported, citing eyewitness accounts. Out of the 25 dead, 14 have been identified as staff members, and 4 have been confirmed to be tourists.
