The Election Commission is now more active in finding duplicate voters. A new option has appeared in the BLO app. From Monday, BLOs saw a new feature in their app-'Duplicate Elector Verification.'
If there are voters with the same name in multiple places, it is essential to know whether those voters are the same person or different individuals. The Election Commission believes that without verifying this information, a transparent list is not possible.
According to the new option, if any voter is shown as a duplicate voter in the BLO app, then the BLO will visit that voter's home. The voter will have to face questions.

If the voter is aware that there is another voter card in their name, they will have to write a declaration and submit photocopies of both the old EPIC card and the current EPIC card to the BLO. If any voter is not aware of this matter, they will have to write a Declaration and submit a photocopy of the current EPIC to the BLO.
This new option has been added to the BLO app primarily to ensure 100 percent certainty about duplicate voters. Meanwhile, Swapan Mandal, General Secretary of the Election Workers and BLO Unity Platform, has informed that a list from the Commission has reached many BLOs across the state. Based on information obtained from the Commission's own duplicate voter identification software, that list of names has been sent to facilitate cross-verification for BLOs.
