Following the Durga puja, the pandals had to be removed within 15 days. However, it has still not been removed from CIT Park in North Kolkata. Therefore, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation's Parks Department cannot start the park's renovation work. The Mayor-in-Council and MLA Debashis Kumar of that department have stated that the official responsible for this work has been instructed to arrange for the prompt removal of the pandals.
Trinamool councillor and paediatrician Minakshi Gangopadhyay from Ward No. 12 in the Gauribari area of North Kolkata made multiple complaints about the poor condition of CIT Park at the municipal monthly session. She requested that arrangements be made quickly to repair the walking path at CIT Park and renovate the field. The park's play equipment is in poor condition and needs urgent repair initiatives. There are plans to construct a satellite health centre in a section of this park, but that work has not started either. Minakshi said, 'Several thousand residents of Gauribari depend on CIT Park's field and walking path. They are facing inconvenience.'
Debashis said, “Pandals and decorators” materials are still lying in the park. Unless they are removed, the park renovation work cannot begin. I will ask the councillor to arrange for the quick removal of those pandals. She should speak with the responsible borough official concerned.'
Local sources noted that the councillor making the complaint is one of the main patrons of the puja committee, against whose organisers allegations have been raised for not removing the pandals yet. The councillor said, “I don't want much discussion about this matter. The problem will be resolved by speaking with the concerned official.”

Sources from the Parks Department stated that if pujas are held in any park under municipal jurisdiction, permission must be obtained from the executive engineer responsible for the relevant borough. If puja pandals are not removed within 15 days as per the conditions, the concerned official can take action.
