Recently, the BJP had claimed that Baruipur municipality chairman Shakti Roy Chowdhury's name appears in two places in the voter list. As soon as the allegation became public, uproar started in the area. The local BLO informed that although two forms came in the chairman's name, he accepted only one; the other was cancelled.
In response, Chairman Shakti Roy Chowdhury brought forward the matter of BJP state committee member Mithu Bandyopadhyay having voter cards in two places. He informed that he will lodge a complaint about this matter to the BDO and the sub-divisional magistrate.
BJP leader Mithu Bandyopadhyay's claim is that her name was removed from the voter list in 2023. Later, she applied again. At that time, a new card came. That is why the name appears in two places. However, the BJP leader also claims that she filled out and submitted the form for only one place.
