Two photo voter cards in the name of the Baruipur Municipality Chairman. This has sparked intense political controversy in the area amid the SIR atmosphere. Shakti Raychaudhuri is the four-time chairman of the municipality. The allegation is that there are two EPIC cards in his name. How did this matter come to light? According to local sources, during the SIR work, the chairman's name was found in two places in the voter list. It is alleged that two enumeration forms also came in his name. This led to the uproar.

The BJP has raised allegations that there are two voter cards in the chairman's name, which is a serious matter. BJP state committee member Uttam Kar claims that the Election Commission must quickly investigate and take action.

BLO Chhobi Mandal Das of booth number 141 in Baruipur West Assembly constituency said that two enumeration forms came to them in Shakti Raychaudhuri's name. He gave one to the chairman, marked the other as 'double' and kept it aside. He also took the initiative to send it back to the commission.

However, Shakti Raychaudhuri's statement is, 'BJP can do many things. They are in power at the centre. They can print not just two, but four EPIC cards in my name. But the EPIC card I have matches the form given by the Election Commission's BLO. Then I can't understand how two cards were created. Only one form came to me.'

Trinamool's Baruipur West block president Gautam Das claims that neither the chairman nor Trinamool is at fault. This is completely the Election Commission's negligence.
