To get a beard like Ranbir Kapoor, it takes more than just letting it grow; it needs regular grooming. A well-groomed beard speaks volumes for the style of a man, and Ranbir's look is one that has a huge fan base. However, if not cared for, beards can quickly turn coarse, itchy, and full of dandruff. The good thing is you don't have to visit any salons; beard care essentials can be maintained at home itself. Here's a set of basic tips to keep your beard healthy and groomed.

Keep the beard clean
The beard hair accrues dust, sweat, and natural skin oils, which make it dirty very fast, thereby inviting bacteria that may lead to acne or infections. It is necessary to clean your beard two or three times a week with a mild shampoo or sulfate-free face wash. You can wash it on alternate days if you have very oily skin, but refrain from daily shampooing as this dries out the hair. While washing, gently massage the skin underneath with your fingertips to clean it thoroughly.
Conditioning is a must
Conditioning after washing keeps the beard soft and manageable. You may either use a beard conditioner or go for natural moisturizers such as coconut, olive, argan, or almond oil. Slightly warm the oil and massage it into the beard. This cuts down on roughness, avoids tangles, and soothes itching. Doing it two to three times a week will create quite an improvement in texture.
Comb the beard regularly
Combing prevents tangles and gives a fuller appearance to the beard. Combing also helps in well-distributed natural oils, helping in better growth. Use a beard comb for best results.
Exfoliate the skin under the beard
Dead skin cells underneath the beard can cause itching and dandruff. Exfoliate once or twice a week. With sugar, coffee, and honey, you'll be able to make a simple, homemade scrub. Gently rub it on the skin beneath the beard to improve blood circulation and stimulate healthy beard growth.

Regular trimming
Whether you like to wear a short beard or intend to let it grow longer, regular trimming is necessary. You can shape the beard yourself once every 1-2 months using a trimmer. Define the cheek lines and neat the neckline. If you want to grow your beard, you won't need to trim the length for a month or two, but you should continue neck and line maintenance.
Care for the Skin Underneath Sensitive skin reacts with redness, rashes, or acne. Apply an aloe vera gel, tea tree–infused serums, or light moisturisers that keep the skin soothed and inhibit bacterial growth. A good-looking beard is only possible if the skin is healthy.
