Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the ex-BJP national president JP Nadda are likely to visit Bengal this month.
As per a report by The Times of India, Modi may visit Bengal during the third week of January and will hold a rally in North Bengal. The visit will be his second to the state after his visit on the 20th of December, in which he held an audio call speech due to unfavourable weather conditions in Taherpur, Nadia.

According to a report by Free Press Journal, BJP MP Khagen Murmu, who represents Malda (Uttar), said that a request of the same has been made to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) , but it hasn’t been confirmed yet by the office.
“People of Bengal got aware of who are their well-wishers. The BJP top leaders do not visit this state during calamities or pandemic but become migratory birds ahead of the elections. People know that the lady who wears slippers is there for the common people, be it during pandemic or cyclones,” Free Press Journal quoted Trinamool Congress leader Debangshu Bhattacharya as saying.
High Court clears opposition rallies in Malda and Cooch Behar
Meanwhile, the Calcutta High Court has permitted a public rally to be held by the opposition leader, Suvendu Adhikari, at Malda on January 2. Actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty is also set to hold a rally at Cooch Behar.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also expected to be in Bengal around the last week of January, according to the report by The Times of India. “He knows the weaknesses and asked us to focus on booths. He is likely to take a stock of the situation when he is back in the city later this month”, Times of India quoted a Bengal BJP leader as saying.
The report also states that former BJP president JP Nadda is also expected to make a halt in Kolkata on January 8.
