‘15 minutes to respond or they would kill us’: Venezuela’s acting president makes explosive claim

When American forces were taking away Venezuela's former President Nicolas Maduro, they were given 15 minutes to survive—Venezuela's Acting President Delcy Rodriguez was heard making such a claim in a recently leaked video (whose authenticity has not been verified by 'News Ei Samay').

About a week after American forces took away Venezuela's former President Maduro, along with his wife, there was a closed-door meeting lasting a couple of hours.

According to sources, a portion of the video recording of that meeting has reached local media. After Maduro's abduction, US President Trump appointed his deputy Delcy Rodriguez as Venezuela's Acting President.

In the leaked video, Rodriguez can be heard saying, “The threats began from the very first minute they kidnapped the president. They gave Diosdado [Cabello, the interior minister], Jorge [Rodríguez, the acting president’s brother and congressional president,] and me 15 minutes to respond, or they would kill us.”

Rodriguez further claimed that keeping political power in hand was her priority.

However, a section of Venezuela's political leaders claim that it was with the help of Rodriguez and her brother that Trump was able to take Maduro away from his bedroom. Dismissing that allegation in this video, Rodriguez claimed that they were told that Maduro and his wife had been killed. Taking power was not easy in this situation, but there was nothing else to do. They were being constantly threatened and blackmailed, and they were forced to take power.

Trump has already claimed that if Rodriguez cannot handle the country properly, her situation will be worse than Maduro's.
