Marjorie Taylor Greene blew up her relationship with Donald Trump in public on Friday, hours after the president abruptly pulled his support and accused her of turning on his administration. In a long Truth Social post, Trump said Greene had “gone Far Left” and become “a ranting lunatic.”
Greene responded by publishing screenshots of text messages that she claimed she sent to Trump and his aide Natalie Harp, encouraging him to embrace the push to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Greene shares explosive texts to Trump
In one highlighted screenshot, Greene told Trump to "lean in" to Bill Clinton's alleged links to Epstein. She wrote: "Check the flight logs of Epstein's plane. Bill Clinton is on there like 26 times! Hillary too!!"
She added that releasing the files matters to victims, and to voters who believe “Democrat bad guys like the Clintons were entangled and involved with him.”
Calling Epstein "the spider that wove the web of the deep state," she advised Trump: "Lean into it."
A second screenshot shows Greene responding to “NH,” understood to be Trump aide Natalie Harp, who accused her of fueling “THE JEFFREY EPSTEIN HOAX.” Greene replied that she repeatedly defended Trump publicly: “In every single interview I have done I have defended President Trump.”
She also admonished: “Stop ignoring the women. Many of them literally voted for President Trump… Them being raped as teenagers is not a hoax.”
MTG Says Trump Is “Coming After Me Hard”
In a lengthy statement on X, Greene accused Trump of 'targeting' her in an attempt to intimidate the GOP ahead of next week's vote on releasing the files.
“It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out,” she said, arguing that Americans would rather see him fight that hard for struggling families.
She wrote that she has given Trump "too much of my precious time" but added: "But I don’t worship or serve Donald Trump. I worship God, Jesus is my savior, and I serve my district GA14 and the American people. I remain the same today as I’ve always been and I will continue to pray this administration will be successful because the American people desperately deserve what they voted for. For me, I remain America First and America Only!!!"
Trump unloads on Greene
Trump's Truth Social post aired extensive grievances.
“I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of “Congresswoman” Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia,” he said, citing that all she does is “COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”
He added that the rift began when he warned her against a 2026 Senate run, citing a poll where she was “at 12%, and didn’t have a chance.” Since then, he wrote, “I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day.”
Trump also backed a potential primary challenge: "If the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support."
He accused Greene of drifting left, even "doing The View, with their Low IQ Republican hating Anchors."
GOP divided over Epstein files push
As per a report by the Dailymail, the dispute comes as Greene, Lauren Boebert, Nancy Mace and Rep. Thomas Massie backed a petition forcing a vote on releasing the Epstein files-an effort Trump calls a “Democrat hoax.”
On Air Force One, Trump attacked "dumb Republicans" for backing the measure, saying it detracts from GOP accomplishments.

A White House spokesperson echoed that line, saying Democrats want to change the subject after being “utterly defeated by President Trump in the shutdown fight.”
Greene insists that she's motivated by victims: "Many of the victims of Jeffrey Epstein were abused as teenagers… It is a shame our government is working harder to protect pedophiles than… the victims!" With 218 signatures, the House must now take up the vote, though its fate in the Senate, and whether Trump would veto it- remains uncertain.
