Three injured in central Israel after Iranian missile strikes

Three people were injured in central Israel after Iranian missile attacks, the Israeli rescue service said in a statement.

According to officials, the victims were hit by shrapnel during the latest round of strikes. A 40-year-old man is reported to be in serious condition, while a 25-year-old man suffered moderate injuries and a 56-year-old man sustained minor injuries. Rescue teams are currently providing medical assistance to those affected.

Iran launches missiles, drones toward UAE; air defences intercept most threats

The United Arab Emirates said Iran launched 16 ballistic missiles and more than 117 drones toward the country on Sunday. According to the UAE’s Defence Ministry, all 16 missiles were intercepted, while a 17th projectile fell into the sea. Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad‑Bagher Ghalibaf warned that the ongoing war could disrupt global oil production and exports if hostilities continue. “If the war continues like this, there will be neither a way to sell oil nor the capacity to produce it,” he wrote in a post on social media.

Iran-Israel tensions spill into neighbouring regions

The conflict has also spread to other parts of the region. The Hezbollah launched attacks on Israeli targets from Lebanon, prompting retaliatory Israeli strikes. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka said it evacuated 208 sailors from an Iranian navy vessel after a separate Iranian frigate was reportedly sunk near its waters. Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi accused the US navy of committing an “atrocity” by sinking the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena, warning that Washington would “bitterly regret” the move.

Iran vows strong response

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that the country would not bow to pressure and would respond forcefully to any attacks. “If we are attacked, we have no choice but to respond,” Pezeshkian said, adding that Iran would not surrender to “bullying or aggression.” The IRGC also claimed responsibility for a drone and missile strike on the Al-Adiri airbase in Kuwait, alleging the facility was used by the US military. The extent of the damage has not been independently verified.

US signals possible troop deployment

Speaking about the conflict, Donald Trump said sending American ground troops to Iran was “possible” but would require a “very good reason.” The White House also said US military operations were aimed at gaining control over Iranian airspace, with objectives expected to be completed within four to six weeks. Amid rising tensions, the United States temporarily suspended operations at its embassy in Kuwait City citing security concerns.

Regional conflict widens amid ongoing strikes

The war involving Iran, Israel, and the United States continued to intensify on Sunday as attacks and counter-attacks were reported across the Middle East. According to Iranian authorities, at least 1,332 people have been killed in strikes carried out by the United States and Israel since Saturday. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it launched its 23rd wave of missile strikes, while Israeli defence systems intercepted several projectiles fired from Iranian territory. The Israel Defense Forces said it struck more than 400 targets in Iran, including ballistic missile launchers and facilities linked to unmanned aerial vehicles.
