Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is set to launch a nationwide campaign focused on examination-related issues and concerns affecting students and job aspirants across the country.

The initiative will begin with a large student convention in Kota on June 17, followed by similar events in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11 and Delhi on July 14, per a report by news agency ANI.

Congress plans outreach across campuses

Announcing the programme, Congress General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal said the conventions would bring together a broad cross-section of young people and education stakeholders.

"Rahul Gandhi will conduct a series of large student conventions starting with Kota (17 June), Allahabad (10 July), Patna (11 July) and Delhi (14 July), bringing together students, aspirants, youth organisations, educators and all those directly affected by examination scandals," Venugopal told ANI.

According to the Congress leader, the campaign will be supported by extensive mobilisation efforts involving the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), Youth Congress, Pradesh Congress Committees (PCCs), District Congress Committees (DCCs) and local party units.

Focus on youth concerns

The party plans to reach students through a combination of physical and digital campaigns.

"Physical and digital invitations, campus outreach, interactions at coaching centres, universities, schools, and youth hubs, social media campaigns, live screenings, and direct engagement with students will be undertaken on a massive scale," Venugopal said.

Per ANI, the campaign aims to provide a platform for students and job aspirants affected by examination-related controversies, including alleged paper leaks and administrative failures. Congress leaders say the movement will seek to bring together young people irrespective of political affiliations and encourage them to share their experiences.

Key demands to be highlighted

Venugopal said the conventions would also amplify demands previously raised by Rahul Gandhi on issues related to examinations and recruitment processes.

These include decentralisation of NEET, abolition of examination fees, strict action against those involved in paper leak rackets and greater accountability within the education system.

"Having repeatedly raised these issues, Rahul Gandhi has made the defence of merit, fairness, and equal opportunity for youth a pressing matter of national importance," stated Venugopal.

Campaign follows NEET-UG controversy

The announcement comes in the wake of the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 following allegations of paper leaks and administrative lapses.

The issue has triggered widespread debate on examination integrity and the challenges faced by students preparing for competitive tests, making it a central theme of the Congress party's upcoming youth outreach campaign.
