Shubman Gill is expecting a clearance on his fitness as he heads to the BCCI’s centre of excellence on 1st December. Reports suggest that he is on his way to recovery. The young leader of the Indian team has sustained a neck spasm in the first test against South Africa at Eden Gardens.
After not playing the Guwahati test, he left the Indian team and travelled to Mumbai, where he consulted with specialists regarding his injury. After spending three days in the city, Gill headed home to Chandigarh and continued his personal rehab.
As reported by Cricbuzz, there is over a 50 percent chance that he will be cleared by the CoE to resume international cricket, which he has missed since the second day of the first Test in Kolkata last month (November 15). Gill has not played any cricket since the injury, missed the last test and ODI series.

The five-match T20I series lineup is scheduled to be announced in the coming days, and he may be cleared to play. According to sources, he has worked hard on his recovery and hopes to return to the field as soon as possible. "The skipper worked extremely hard during the rehabilitation procedure. It is now up to the CoE," a source said, adding, "If all goes as planned, he should be in Cuttack by December 6-7, when the T20I squad is anticipated to meet."
Reports also suggest that Bumrah is set to return to the side for T20Is, and Hardik Pandya also gets a clearance from the CoE and is all set to play for Baroda in the next two matches. If Shubman Gill clears the fitness test, India will be able to play with the core team and might be able to settle the team a bit.
The first T20I will be played in Cuttack, with the remaining matches scheduled for New Chandigarh (December 11), Dharamsala (December 14), Lucknow (December 17), and Ahmedabad (December 19).
