Tata Motors has pulled the wraps off the updated Tiago and Tiago EV, giving its popular hatchbacks a fresh visual identity ahead of their official launch on May 28. The refreshed models bring noticeable exterior revisions and feature upgrades as Tata continues strengthening its presence in both the affordable petrol and electric vehicle segments.

The updated Tiago range adopts a more modern design language inspired by newer Tata models, while retaining the compact proportions that helped the hatchbacks remain popular among urban buyers.

Sharper styling gives the Tiago range a stronger road presence

According to Autocar India, the facelifted Tiago and Tiago EV receive redesigned front fascias with new headlamp units and eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps that immediately make the cars look more aggressive. The petrol-powered Tiago now gets a black grille design resembling the larger Altroz, while the electric version features a cleaner body-coloured closed grille for a more futuristic appearance.

Both models also receive redesigned bumpers and fresh alloy wheel patterns. Tata has updated the rear section with new LED tail-lamps connected through a thick trim element, giving the hatchbacks a wider and more premium look from behind.

The refreshed styling appears aimed at helping the Tiago remain competitive in a market where buyers increasingly expect bold designs even in entry-level cars.

Cabin upgrades expected to focus on technology and safety

The overall cabin layout is expected to remain familiar, though Tata is likely to refine the interior with updated displays and improved equipment. The reveal video confirmed the arrival of a 360-degree camera setup, which would be a segment-first feature for the Tiago lineup.

The hatchbacks are also expected to continue with features such as automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps, connected infotainment, and tyre pressure monitoring systems.

Tiago EV may receive improved range

The petrol-powered Tiago is expected to continue with the familiar 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine offered with manual and AMT gearbox options. The CNG variant is also likely to remain part of the lineup.

The bigger changes may arrive on the electric side. Tata could introduce slightly larger battery packs for the Tiago EV to improve the claimed driving range, following a strategy similar to the Punch EV.

According to Autocar India, Tiago EV comes with two battery pack options, delivering claimed ranges of over 220 km and 290 km, respectively. Any increase in battery capacity would strengthen Tata’s position in the growing affordable EV market.
