Google is rolling out a new usage dashboard for Gemini users globally, giving people a clearer view of how much of the AI chatbot they have used and when they are likely to hit their rate limits. The feature is being gradually introduced on both the app and website versions of Gemini.

What this new dashboard is about

The new dashboard is designed to help users track their usage more easily, especially those who frequently run into limits and have to wait for access to reset. However, alongside the dashboard, Google has also introduced a new weekly rate limit in addition to the existing five-hour limit, placing broader restrictions on how much users can access the AI chatbot over time.

Although Google has not officially announced the feature or the new weekly limit, several users have started seeing it. According to Android Authority, a new button is being added to the Gemini app and web client that opens the dashboard. While some users, including Gadgets 360 staff members, have not yet received the button, the dashboard can reportedly still be accessed through a direct URL if users are logged into their Google account in a browser.

More about this new feature

The new page is titled “Usage limits,” and it says, “Your plan's limits determine how much you can use Gemini over time. Advanced models and features can take up more usage.”

Below this message, users can see two separate bars, one for “current usage” and another for “weekly limit.” The current usage bar resets every five hours, while the weekly limit refreshes once every week. Both bars display how much of the assigned quota has already been used.

The five-hour rate limit has existed since Gemini was first introduced. The newly added weekly limit is expected to help Google manage computing costs while controlling overall usage. This also means that, like several other major AI companies, Google is now limiting chatbot access differently across subscription tiers.

The report noted that a similar weekly quota system was first introduced by Anthropic last year after the release of Claude Code.

Users on the free tier are expected to receive the lowest usage allowance, while Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers will get progressively higher access. According to a support page shared by Google, free users will receive basic access to Gemini 3.1 Pro and Thinking models, along with general access to the Fast model. They will also get five screen automation requests, 20 audio overviews, five Deep Research reports, 20 image generations using Nano Banana 2, and 10 music tracks of 30 seconds each, among other features.
