India’s new labour codes: Basic Pay, PF and gratuity get a boost

The new labour codes will raise employees’ basic pay, leading to higher PF and gratuity contributions, but may also reduce in-hand salary as allowances are rationalised. 50% of CTC will now be considered “basic pay”.
