Gold prices in Kolkata extend gains for third day as global markets strengthen

Gold prices in Kolkata rose again on February 9, with both 24-carat and 22-carat rates climbing. Silver prices also jumped, tracking gains in global markets.

Gold prices opened the week on a higher note in Kolkata. After rising on Friday and Saturday, prices moved up again on Monday. Rates for both 24-carat and 22-carat gold have increased. The market was closed on Sunday, but even on Saturday, gold prices in Kolkata had already shown an upward trend.

Gold and silver prices on February 9

Gold prices have been jumping over the past few days. On Monday, gold and silver prices also increased in the international market, and Kolkata’s market prices rose in tandem. On this day, prices of gold and silver increased in the international market and on MCX. As a result, prices also rose in Gold and Silver ETFs.

Compared to Saturday, silver prices in Kolkata on Monday increased by ₹6,850 per kg. For both 24-carat pure gold and 22-carat gold, the price of 10 grams increased by ₹950.

24-carat gold bar: ₹1,56,100 per gram

24-carat gold bar (retail): ₹1,56,900 per gram

22-carat hallmark jewellery gold: ₹1,49,150 per gram

Silver (retail): ₹2,66,400 per kg
