Every second counted, and the wait is finally over. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the NEET UG 2026 notification, marking the start of preparation for India’s biggest medical entrance exam. This exam is for students aspiring to pursue MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical courses.
Registration details
Last year, NEET UG registration started on February 7, and the exam was conducted on the first Sunday of May. This year, the registration started on February 8, and the last date will be on March 8 (up to 9:00 PM). The fee payment window will remain open till 11:50 PM the same day.

Fees structure
For the NEET UG 2026 examination, application fees are structured based on the categories, starting at ₹1700 for General, while General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates will be charged ₹1600 and ₹1000 for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender candidates. For candidates applying from outside India, the fee is ₹9500, regardless of category. The OBC-NCL category applies according to the Central List issued by the National Commission for Backwards Classes.

Steps to apply
Go to the official NEET NTA website.
Click New Registration and read the instructions carefully.
Generate an application number and password.
Fill in personal details, educational info, and exam city preferences.
Upload a photograph (10–200 KB) and signature (4–30 KB).
Pay the application fee and submit the form.
Take a printout of the form for future reference.
Exam date and time
Based on past trends, the exam date is expected to be on May 3, 2026, which is the first Sunday of May, with a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes, typically scheduled from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM.

NEET UG 2026: Exam pattern
The NEET (UG) 2026 examination will follow a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format, covering three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Physics and Chemistry will have 45 questions each, carrying 180 marks per subject. Biology will have 90 questions for a total of 360 marks. In total, the exam will have 180 questions carrying 720 marks. Each question will have four options, with only one correct answer.
