After finishing its run in cinemas, 120 Bahadur is now set for its digital release. The historical war drama, led by Farhan Akhtar, was released in theatres on November 21, 2025. Despite being one of the most talked-about films of 2025, 120 Bahadur struggled to make a strong impact at the box office. The film earned close to Rs 20 crore during its theatrical run. Critics praised the film’s intent, scale, and technical detailing, especially its battle sequences and production design.
However, many felt that the emotional depth did not fully match the scale of the story. Audience reactions were also divided, with appreciation for the subject but mixed opinions on the overall execution.
Story inspired by a real battle
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, 120 Bahadur is inspired by the Battle of Rezang La, which took place during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The film tells the story of 120 soldiers from Charlie Company of the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who defended their position against nearly 3,000 Chinese troops. Fighting in harsh weather conditions and without artillery support, the soldiers relied mainly on rifles and bayonets. Only six soldiers survived the battle.
The film highlights their courage, sacrifice, and sense of duty, while shedding light on a lesser-known chapter of Indian military history.

Farhan Akhtar plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led the troops during the battle and was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra. Raashii Khanna stars as his wife, Shagun Kanwar.
The supporting cast includes Eijaz Khan, Vivan Bhatena, Ankit Siwach, Sparsh Walia, and Ajinkya Deo, among others. Amitabh Bachchan lends his voice as the narrator. The film focuses on themes of bravery, patriotism, leadership, and the deep bond shared by soldiers in the face of impossible odds.
When and where to watch 120 Bahadur on OTT?
As per reports by OTTPlay, 120 Bahadur will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 16, 2026. The film will be available exclusively to Prime subscribers. The OTT release comes nearly two months after its theatrical debut and just ahead of Republic Day, which fits well with the film’s patriotic theme.
