Dhurandhar: The Revenge has finally hit the screens with paid previews, and the movie is creating a buzz after the success of the first part of the film. Just before the release of the movie, information regarding the changes made by the filmmakers, as per the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), was revealed online.

21 edits, focus on violent scenes

According to the certification report cited by Money Control, the film underwent a total of 21 modifications. Of these, four were specifically linked to scenes depicting extreme violence.

Moments described as "smashing the eye", "beheading and kicking", "hitting the head with a cement block" and "hitting the head with a hammer" were trimmed. The report further notes that 24 seconds of a "beheading and kicking" sequence were deleted as part of the cuts.

Despite these edits, the film has been granted an 'A' certificate.

Shorter runtime for Indian audiences

The final runtime of the Indian version stands at 3 hours, 49 minutes and 36 seconds. This is slightly shorter than the version initially submitted to the CBFC, which was around 3 hours and 51 minutes long.

With additional trims of about 1.3 minutes, the Indian theatrical cut is now over six minutes shorter than the overseas version, which reportedly runs for approximately 3 hours and 55 minutes.

Fan reactions and anticipation

The changes, particularly those involving violent content, have drawn attention online. Some viewers have expressed disappointment over the extent of the cuts made ahead of release.

Even so, Dhurandhar: The Revenge remains one of the most anticipated films of 2026. It is also being counted among the longest films in Indian cinema.

Early box office indicators suggest a promising opening. The film reportedly earned Rs 36 crore through paid previews, while advance bookings for day one have already crossed Rs 25 crore in India.
