Bollywood fans are in for a treat as Rani Mukerji returns as ACP Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 3. Yash Raj Films today released the trailer of Mardaani 3, giving fans a glimpse of what they could be in for in Rani Mukerji's latest mission as Shivani Roy!
A race against time
The trailer opens with a tense scenario: 93 young girls have gone missing in just three months. In a move typical of her no-nonsense style and intuitive instincts, ACP Shivani Roy chucks herself into this case. For this case, is a cunning woman named Amma, played by Mallika Prasad. The character, dubbed a beggar-mafia queen, has a sinister plan behind abducting girls aged eight to eleven, forcing Shivani into a high-stakes race against time.

The trailer has already ignited excitement among fans. Social media was flooded with comments praising the on-screen chemistry between Rani and Mallika, with one fan writing, “Rani ma’am & Mallika ma’am brilliance on screen.” A user wrote, “It is not a horror movie, but I still felt scared.” A user wrote, “My real hero Shivani Shivaji Roy is back. Queen is back to hunt.” However, a few noted that the storyline seemed reminiscent of Delhi Crime Season 3.
About the film
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 3 marks the third chapter in the popular franchise. Speaking about the film earlier, Rani said, “When we set out to make Mardaani 3, we were hoping that we would find a script that would take the experience of watching a Mardaani franchise film higher. Mardaani is an extremely loved franchise, and we have a certain responsibility to deliver on the expectations that people have. We will do our best to live up to this. Mardaani 3 is dark, deadly and brutal. So, I’m intrigued to find out the response of the people towards our film. I hope they shower this film with the same amount of love that they have always given.”
