On Sunday, renowned sitarist and neo-classical artist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma marked the end of his India tour with an energetic show in New Delhi, incorporating elements of both classical ragas and modern music.
Among the attendees were the Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta and MP Rajya Sabha Rajeev Shukla. The event began with the welcome speech from the parents of Sharma, which was succeeded by breathing exercises followed by musical entertainment.
The sitarist performed using his innovative electronic sitar – SITARA and entertained his fans with ragas like Bihaag, Kedar, Tilak Kamod, and Shyam Kalyan, before venturing into unchartered territories with fusion music.

From ragas to cinematic soundscapes
One of the highlights of the evening was Sharma’s reinterpretation of a track from Dhurandhar, which quickly drew the audience into a layered fusion of sitar, percussion and shehnai. According to a press note, the segment incorporated elements from the film’s track FA9LA while also paying tribute to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with excerpts from Man Atkeya Beparwah De Naal.
The program continued with a musical medley based on the themes of Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and various popular Bollywood films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Zara Zara, and Tumhi Dekho Naa. In addition to that, Sharma played several self-created songs, namely, Shankara, Shiv Kailash, Burning Ghat, Belua and Roslyn.
Towards the end of the night, Sharma concluded the show with performances of Chanakya, Kautilya, Venkateswara, and Tandavam, all of which received thunderous applause from the audience.

Tour wraps after nationwide run
The performance at New Delhi became the last leg of Sharma’s tour that saw performances in cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, and Kolkata.
On the occasion, Sharma even met the chief minister of Gujarat, Rekha Gupta, images of whom have been uploaded by Team Innovation on its social media handles. The tour was organised by Team Innovation and District by Zomato.
