Bollywood’s beloved duo Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are all set to welcome their second child. In an Instagram post, the couple shared the heartwarming news with fans. Already proud parents to their daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, whom they welcomed on September 8, 2024, the two are now gearing up for yet another beautiful chapter in their lives.
As soon as the announcement dropped, social media was flooded with congratulations, love, blessings, and excitement from fans. A user wrote, "Is that mini Deepika again?". Another wrote, "Dua gonna be a sister super soon." A third user wrote, "Dhurandhar 2 is here!!!".
Deepika and Ranveer’s relationship
Deepika and Ranveer’s story goes back to 2013, when they first met on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. What began as on-screen chemistry soon turned into a real-life bond. After dating for a few years, the two quietly got engaged in 2015 before tying the knot in a grand ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, on November 14, 2018.
Their wedding celebrations beautifully blended traditions, with ceremonies reflecting Deepika’s Konkani roots and Ranveer’s Sindhi heritage, something that continues to be remembered as one of Bollywood’s most iconic weddings.
Deepika on motherhood
Deepika has often spoken about how motherhood has changed her perspective. At the WAVES 2025 summit, she shared that becoming a parent shifted her focus from a largely career-driven life to caring for another human being.
"I'm discovering this new life post-embracing motherhood. The minute you've had a child, you're now responsible for another human being, and especially in the way I've led my life, it's been so much about me - leaving home, my ambition, my career, and everything has been about my life and everything that I wanted for myself. And now, suddenly, you're caring for this person who is dependent on you for everything", she said.
What’s next for the couple
On the work front, Ranveer Singh is currently enjoying the success of Dhurandhar 2, which continues to perform strongly at the box office.
Deepika, meanwhile, has a packed slate ahead. She will be seen alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s King, and is also set to share screen space with Allu Arjun in Atlee’s much-anticipated project, tentatively titled AA22xA6.
